WoW Forever Legacy system guide
Legacy is Forever's account-wide progression: you build up points across your account, then spend them on a specific character for advantages in Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness. Here is exactly what Blizzard has confirmed, and where we would put the points.
What we know for certain

The three areas
Professions
Legacy perks that make crafting and gathering easier or cheaper for the character.
Best for: Characters who craft seriously or level professions 1–300.
Our pick: Worth it if a profession is central to your plan for this character; skip it if you only gather casually.
Adventure
Legacy perks aimed at the open-world and leveling experience.
Best for: Levelers and solo players.
Our pick: The default pick if you do not craft much — it improves the part of the game you are in while leveling.
Resourcefulness
Legacy perks that improve efficiency and resource handling for the character.
Best for: Players who want smoother long sessions.
Our pick: A flex area — take it after you know what your character is for.
Where should you spend first?
With a 16-point launch cap and only three areas, you cannot do everything — and you should not try. Spend on the area that matches what this character is for. A dedicated crafter wants Professions; a leveler wants Adventure; a generalist can treat Resourcefulness as the flex slot once the other two are set.

- The exact perk list and rank costs are still being finalised through beta; we only publish what Blizzard has stated.
- The 16-point launch cap may be raised in later phases — Blizzard calls it a launch constraint, not a permanent one.
